About the class

Mātauranga Māori is the knowledge of the land, held by the people who belong to the land. It is born from generations of intimate relationship with the whenua — living upon it, working alongside it, harvesting from it, and, above all, listening. Through careful observation, respect, and guardianship, this knowledge has ensured the survival and wellbeing of people and place.— Rob McGowan

Restoring our connection to the natural world is central to reclaiming Indigenous ways of knowing and being. Wellbeing is more than the absence of illness; it is the presence of vitality within both people and place. Wellness is not a fixed destination, but an ongoing practice — the art and science of seeking balance in a constantly changing world. This restoration of relationship is the first step on our journey back to wellness, and there is much for us to rediscover.

Join Donna Kerridge for a powerful wānanga exploring the language…
