About the class

Join us for an immersive Tā Moko workshop where we explore the rich cultural traditions, symbolism, and process behind Māori tattooing. Guided by tā moko artist Paitangi, this workshop will delve into the tikanga (customs), history, and contemporary practice of tā moko as a living art form that tells stories of whakapapa (geneology), identity, and connection. This wānanga offers a unique opportunity for anyone interested in tā moko to deepen their understanding of this sacred art form. It’s a chance to engage directly with an experienced practitioner, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into the world of Māori tattooing.
