About the class
As part of the decolonizing and re-indigenizing the mind, one must return to the teachings of old as a way to decode our cultural narratives to gain insight into Te Ao Māori, the ancient Māori world. Join Joshua Wetere for a 2-hour online wānanga to unpack our cultural narratives and stories as part of our journey to Te Ao Mārama - the world of enlightenment.

Joshua Wetere is the CEO and founder of Auraki Mai, a teaching excellence award recipient in 2020, is an experienced Māori Education Lecturer for the University of Waikato in Aotearoa New Zealand. His work is centrally positioned within second language acquisition, cultural competency, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, te reo and tikanga Māori development. Joshua is passionate about the revitalisation of te reo, tikanga Māori and te ao Māori.
