Women's Haka Activation

Join Amelia Butler, Māori cultural practitioner, TEDx speaker, and healer, for a powerful haka activation created to awaken and empower the feminine. This two-hour women’s circle is an embodied ceremonial experience grounded in Māori cultural practices, Māori spirituality and Indigenous worldviews. Through haka, the traditional war dance of the Māori people of Aotearoa New Zealand, participants will engage with breath, sound, movement, and chant, and explore our connection with nature, our Atua Wāhine (Māori goddesses) and Papatūānuku (Earth Mother). In this remembering, we honor our ancestors, awaken their strength, and reclaim the tino rangatiratanga (absolute sovereignty) held within the feminine body.

Amelia has been sharing Māori cultural traditions internationally—from the Pacific Island Ethic Arts Museum and universities to spiritual retreats—and has been teaching haka on Turtle Island (USA) since 2017.
